Will Job Seeker get me a job ? Yes, but not automatically ! Job Seeker will considerable increase your chances of finding your next job. If you follow our advice it will also be a job into which you fit well.
Is it easy to use ? We designed Job Seeker to be used by people who have never touched a computer before. It works with left or right mouse buttons and navigation is easy. It has been used with groups of people for whom it was never intended, e.g. educationally disadvantaged ( under supervision ).
Can I install it on my computer ? You can run it directly of the CD or install it on your hard drive.
Who else uses it ? People wanting better jobs, Colleges, Careers Services, LSCss, Schools, Outplacement consultancies, Training Organisations and Companies making people redundant.
Do I have to pay an annual license ? No, Job Seeker is sold on an individual one-off license basis.
What computers will it run on?

Any PC, from a 486 upwards. Our test machine is a fast 486 with a double speed CD ROM and only 20 Mb memory !

It will run on Windows 95, 98, NT ,2000 and XP, ideally with Interent Explorer 3.0 or above installed.

Does it cover all aspects of job seeking ? The content of Job Seeker is based on our experience in working with people who have been made redundant. We have therefore tried to cover all aspects of the job seeking process. You will probably not need to use all the information and guidance in Job Seeker !
Is it linked to the web ? Yes, but we do give lists of web sites for you to use if you do not have your own access.. However, this is an ever changing picture, so do your own searches here !
Do I need to buy a work book as well ? No, at least not for the CD version. You can print off individual pages or the whole booklet if needed. We can also provide a workbook copy set if needed.
What about updates ? These will be published on this site.
Can I buy a site license? No, its the same price for everyone!

Is it suitable for schools?

Job Seeker was designed to cover a very wide range of people, including school leavers. Many copies have been used by schools although we have to admit that some colleges have not bought the programme because there is too much in it and their students could not cope with the concentration required !

This raises a number of serious educational issues that are not the remit of this web site. We just wonder what sort of jobs these people will end up doing........

Is it just for the UK ? Yes, although copies have been used in Italy, Saudi Arabia and the Falklands!
Can it be used by more than one person at a time? Only on a network. However, the workbook system allows Careers Centres to have a group using one copy of Job Seeker. The workbooks are used as counseling material.
Can I find an individual screen if needed ? Yes. Job Seeker has section sub indexes, a live maim subject list as well as a push button database. This means that all screens are searchable
How many subjects does it cover ? 130 main subjects.
How will it help me with interviews ?

  • School Leavers
  • Shop floor type jobs
  • Office jobs
